Ryan Applin will be back in a Deer Lake Red Wings uniform for the upcoming 2026–27 season.
Applin joined the Red Wings as an affiliate player late last season, making the jump to senior hockey shortly after completing his high school hockey season. Despite being placed into a faster and more physical level of competition, he quickly showed that he belonged.
The young forward impressed during the Red Wings’ run to the 2026 Herder Memorial Championship Finals, bringing speed, confidence and energy to the lineup. He also found the back of the net against the CBS Baker Flooring Blues, finishing a setup from Peyton Hoyt.
After turning heads during his first opportunity with the club, Applin’s return gives Red Wings fans another exciting young player to watch this season.
